Happy New Year! Whether or not you have a New Years resolution, you should still have a 2014 recording resolution.
Why not make it something that’s going to make your recordings way better.
It’s not hard – and you don’t even have to think of what it’ll be. We’ve got you covered.
So what’s going to make you way better at recording in just a few short months? It’s simple and we promise it’ll be fun.
Here it goes: record more. Set an amount of time per day, week, or month, and stick to it. It doesn’t matter what you’re working on, as long as you’re in your home studio working on something.
I’m going to resolve to spend at least one night a week in my studio with no agenda – just time to spend working on whatever seems like fun. I might work on writing a new song, creating some new drum kits, or mixing tracks. But just by spending time in the studio, you’re going to be getting better.
Some of the best artists have stuck to a similar schedule. Writers have written 500 words every morning, songwriters write three songs every day, and filmmakers are also looking for the next amazing story. The best and most prolific artists are able to continually get better at their craft – and they do it by simply doing it often.
So try it out and let us know how you improve. And if you’re looking for something to help you get even better faster, check out our variety of training videos to get top quality sessions to work on alongside top industry pros!
