If you’ve been playing guitar for a while, chances are that you have a few old beaters laying around that don’t get used much. This is a shame. All instruments should be used – even if you’ve upgraded! 🙂
Here’s a way to turn your old smelly acoustic guitar into a fresh new sound that you can use in your productions. Simply turn it into a Nashville Hi-Strung Guitar!
Nashville Hi-Strung Guitar?! What’s that?
It may sound a little odd, but it’s actually just an acoustic guitar that you string with the higher strings of a set of 12-string guitar strings. The first 4 strings will actually be an octave higher than the normal strings, and the ‘B’ and ‘E’ strings will stay the same. The result? A very cool shimmer that can greatly add to any track with an acoustic feel! It’s a great way to not only recycle your old instrument into a novelty that you’ll actually use, but it is a very unique sound that you can use in your productions to create awesome productions!
Here’s a cool video that features this type of acoustic tuning so you can get a feel for what it’s like!
