Back in the day, I was reading a book where they mentioned something about recording challenges.
It was always interesting, and I always wanted to give it a shot.
Basically, you give yourself a time limit (this competition was 24 hours), and a number of songs that you will write/record. For example, 5 songs in 10 hours, or 3 songs in 8 hours.
Then guess what? You do it. No interruptions, no stopping, maybe 15 minutes for a lunch break.
Well, I want to challenge you to do this. It will certainly pay off.
In many ways, truthfully. What better way to record 3 brand new songs and see if you can get something usable out of it?
You might not like all of the songs you record. And to be honest, they’re not going to be ready to release.
But that’s not the point. The point is to push yourself past your creative breaking point into a completely new realm or creativity.

You’ll know you’ve done it when you think you can’t do any more (maybe around song 3 out of 5.) You will have exhausted all of your go-to material and you’ll be stuck.
Good. That’s what you want.
Now you just have to put your head down and get past all of that. Dig deep and find something new – something fresh to work on.
You will be amazed at just what you can come up with.
So I would like to challenge you to do this challenge. Send me your results at email@example.com and what you learned from doing it!
Remember, it doesn’t even have to be more than two songs (it should be more than one, though.) Just set your goal and achieve it.
