It almost never happened…

If you’ve ever enjoyed a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, you know what a tragedy it would be if this beloved drink was never released.

Read the story here – it’s a quick and interesting read!

Not only is coffee the lifeblood of almost all studio sessions – it can also teach us a lesson about our own work as engineers, producers, and musicians. And that lesson is to spend time working with your productions until you feel the way that Peter Dukes felt about his specialty beverage.

This means loading a plug-in and trying not only the first two presets, but working through the controls and learning what each value does to the sound. This will not only help you learn about the plug-in or type of effect (compressors, EQs, reverbs, etc.) but it will help you create a better recording. You never know when you’ll strike the magic setting until it’s happened! Spend time with your productions until you’re confident in the quality.

Then check out some of our training where we go through all of the settings and even give you great sessions to work with.
