What's the difference between Multi-Platinum and Platinum Labs?Multi-Platinum, LLC currently has two product lines: Multi-Platinum and Platinum Labs. Generally speaking, Multi-Platinum videos are broader in scope and tend to focus on a particular engineer's method and/or style of working. Whereas Platinum Labs are intentionally more focused on a specific topic, method, tool, etc. For example, Multi-Platinum Track Editing teaches advanced editing and pocketing techniques for a variety of instruments and situations, while Reason Production is all about the use of Reason (in both the creative and technical senses).

Why isn't the DVD playing in my DVD-Video Player?Because the DVD is a data disc--not a DVD-Video disc. When you insert the disc into your computer, you'll find QuickTime files and sessions for your DAW. The video files are formatted as QuickTime movies to allow you to run the videos on your computer alongside your DAW to follow along. For example, if you watch John Merchant tweak a vocal EQ, you can pause the video, switch to Pro Tools, and make the same tweak yourself. This is the best implementation of "video apprenticeship" we've yet come across.

What is Digital Delivery?Digital Delivery allows you to download the Multi-Platinum videos you purchase, rather than receiving hard-copies on DVD. The downloaded files are identical to those found on the DVD. DDL versions of Multi-Platinum videos are a bit cheaper (reflecting the lack of manufacturing costs), and save you shipping as well.
Note that our DDLs are hosted from a different server to prevent conflicts with the primary Multi-Platinum website. The DDL host site is http://www.multiplatinumdownloads.com. Don't be alarmed that this is a different URL from multi-platinum.com. -

I haven't received my download info/password!The download link and username/password pair are contained in your confirmation email that was sent to your PayPal account email address. Check your spam filters and/or whitelist email from the multi-platinum.com domain. If your email provider's spam filters are particularly aggressive, you may also wish to whitelist multiplatinumdownloads.com.

How fast do the DVDs ship?We strive to ship orders within 48 hours via USPS Priority Mail, which usually takes 2-3 days of transit for domestic shipments; 7-10 international. So if you place a domestic order Sunday evening, it's typically in the mail stream Monday or Tuesday & thus delivered on or before Friday. An international order placed on a Monday evening will ship Tuesday, and should arrive at your country's customs by the following Friday, with delivery soon after (as determined by the speed of your country's post).

Why are they QuickTime files? You probably already have it installed, for one thing (so no proprietary software from us to install).
Additionally, QuickTime files allow you to run the videos on your computer alongside your DAW to follow along. For example, if you watch John Merchant tweak a vocal EQ, you can pause the video, switch to Pro Tools, and make the same tweak yourself. This is the best implementation of "video apprenticeship" we've yet come across. -
